Started to play last week while on morning walks in Lynnhaven. 😎 Glad to know there is at least one Poke Stop in The Villages, I thought I was going to have to take a trip to Orlando.

I think there are probably lots of poke stops in The Villages .Weirsdale has about four pokestops an extremely small are plus a gym.
In the north end of The Villages , I have found them at the fire station on n CR 42, the original Baptist Church on 42, Chatham Rec Center by the sign, Savannah Center in front of the portrait of Sharon Morse, the water tower by Laurel Manors, The Villages public library in Belvidere? And a church in that area. I am sure there are some around you. I haven't looked around the squares. There is an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal on why everyone should play. It is quite a complicated game, especially on evolving and powering up. I have captured 113 and made it to level 8. I have read a couple of responses by people tending to put down the game without knowing anything about it. Hint....you don't have to stare at your phone as you play. In settings, turn off music, leave battery saver on as well as phone vibration and sound effects. Also, if you turn your phone upside down the screen darkens to save batteries. Twenty one million people are playing it and it opened this week in France and Japan. There are three world wide teams..I chose blue. Lots of walking or using a golf cart...and you explore places and notice things you never knew before. I didn't know Weirdale had a War Memorial or an historical school building they are trying to preserve. For those who aren't interested please don't "put down" a game that you know nothing about. It is a highly technical game for ALL ages that encourages you to get out, get moving, socialize and have fun. Play with common sense and it is a very safe game. |
