Sumter County requires a back yard setback at 10' and 5" for sideyard irrespective if it is a golf course or not.

Can landscaping (plantings) be done in the 10 foot/5 foot areas?

It is my understanding that you can. Before I plant I am going to check.

In our neighborhood, almost everyone has plants within the 5' area behind and beside the houses. I don't believe anyone has anything within the 10' area in the front though.
