True

To bad the friendly village people on this site can't understand this fact.

.[/quote]

I know it sounds unfriendly...and may be, or it just may be that we humans are a bit innately territorial like the animals that we are.

If we buy something and pay for it, it is ours and that if a normal feeling.

Generally most of us Villages humans are altruistic and feel like sharing, but some of the Stonecresters have challenged our rights in a most unfriendly way and like the humans we are, trying to be nice and good, that get's our back up a bit.

But there was no need to break the damned gate. Hope there were cameras.

Stonecresters that have family, or friends in the Villages, don't have a problem going thru the gate, just as in reverse, Villagers that have family or friends in Stonecrest, don't have a problem entering their gate.

That didnt last long.

We could have a Gate-A-Lotto pick a number representing how long the gate will function xx-xx-xx-xx (Days-Hours-Minutes-Seconds). The proceeds could be a 50/50 split with Neighborhood Watch.

Broken already? There is a camera there. I certainly hope it wasn't intentionly damaged. There is no reason for property damage under any circumstances. If it was it's just plain juvenile.

Hasn't a lot of this whole event been rather juvenile?

I hope it was not intentional either. Who knows? The Bonita gate on Canal was broken yesterday and I am sure there were several others. Usually just carelessness or impatience. Just one more reason to tag each golf cart for ID purposes. The perps should pay.

I don't think there are any Stonecresters going to the gate anymore since it is a waste of their time now.

My guess is that one of the Villagers forgot their gate card and couldn't get back in to the Villages after shopping at Walmart. I wouldn't just assume it's a disgruntled Stonecrester that did the damage.

Maybe it was accidental, by a Villager. Check the Security Camera.

It's my understanding that you need the card to get out also. If that's the case, the Villager wouldn't have forgotten their card because they, indeed, got out.

We went through the gate yesterday afternoon. There was a Communty Watch person there when we left out of TV. Upon our return, there wasn't anyone monitoring the gate. The funny thing is that when reached the entrance, the gate was open! I was half afraid to go through thinking it may suddenly close on my new cart. As we passed through, it closed behind us. My guess is that it is malfunctioning in some way. Those that think they will tailgate, it is an iron gate that swings horizontaly, I wouldn't try it.....

I believe the original gate installed about 10 or 15 years ago was removed because it was broken every other week (sort of like many of the gates in TV) - the removal wasn't a gift to Stonecrest.

The visitor's gate at St. James was broken last weekend too. CUI?

please check the previous thread[s] re 'the wall' where it was reported in lady lake town mtg mins that the gate was removed due to interference with access to paradise dr - a public street...and not because the gate was frequently broken.

Maybe so, but it still wasn't removed as a gift to Stonecrest.
