Default Straight Talk cell phone service

Does anyone have straight talk cellular service? If so, how is that working for you? Can you use this service for more than one phone, like a family plan? I have verizon right now, and the service is not good, not counting the cost is out of control. Please offer me some suggestions on this service or any other service that you might think is worth switching too. Thanks, Mike

If you don't need the newest smart phone every year and just want a good deal on calling, texting with limited data use, you may wish to look into Consumer Cellular. We have 2 lines with shared 1000 minutes usage, 2000 text messages and 200 MB of data, for $43.65 month ( includes taxes) All their customer reps are located in the US. You can reach them online at consumercellular.com to see all of their plans and phones. We have Samsung Galaxy 6 and they were $125 each. Been with them for 5 years and have had great service in The Villages and while traveling.

I use puretalk, I believe they use at&t network. I have a senior plan for $5 a month. I also have a landline with my cable bundle, so all I need is the $5 plan.

You might benefit from stopping by the Cricket Wireless store on Bichara Blvd and speaking with the Rep[s] there [near Publix and Weight Watcher's Office close to Spanish Springs Town Square]. Cricket uses the AT&T towers country-wide. We use it and have no problem with service from Orlando to Maine! Taxes/fees are included in the monthly billing!

We have Cricket. Rep's you can talk to. Good reception anywhere we go. We don't use much data so $40 plan $35 with auto pay. Good for family. The more phones you have the more discounts you get. You should check it out. No contract.

Tracfone is only $7 per month if you don't use a lot of minutes or data. Their smartphones are free on HSN.com if you prepay a years service. We combine that with Ooma home service for $4 per month.

Are you happy with Ooma? Anything you would do differently with the Ooma packages?

If you're like me, and only talk, don't text, and really don't use more than a 1000 minutes a year and mainly have a phone for occasional use, the best is the AT&T Go Phone.

Go to Walmart, Target or Walgreens and pick up a AT&T Go Phone flip phone for $15, my last one was $10 on sale at Walgreens. Go on their website and purchase a 1000 minutes for $100. They will send you a sim. You put the sim in the phone and you have 1000 minutes for a whole year (12 months). The first time I called customer service rather then use the website, but since then I just buy my new minutes every year from the site, the same sim is used over and over, no mailing is needed.

We've had Ooma for about 7 years now. Once you buy the box for less than $80 on Amazon (I paid twice that), it's less than $5 per month in taxes. Phone service is free. I bought a set of 3 cordless phones that plug into Ooma so I have handsets in several rooms. Voice quality is great. The only problem I've had is that when internet goes down so does Ooma. Not a big issue since we also have the cell phone and internet rarely goes down. We're very happy with Ooma.

Straight Talk uses Verizon towers so if you are having reception issues I would not go with them

Ditto Ooma.. It's great. I have two of them and never have any issues. Your cable will be happy to charge you $30 a month for the same thing!
