Default Google ads on this website/iPhone

When TOTV changed up it's mobile app a few months back I didn't really notice the pop ups, but now Google has pop ups on each and every page. It is so freaking irritating!!

Does anyone know of a good Ad Blocker app for the iPhone?? I have had one on my phone which works for all my sites except TOTV.

This is a new problem that is just driving me nuts. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks all!!

Started using Safari for TOTV on my iPhone. NO ADS! I am not a safari fan in general. But I will access TOTV using Safari from now on. It's heaven to get away from the ridiculous number of adds using Google.

these are very intrusive, and it is interesting, if you do a search something, then go to ToTV, guess what ads for something pop up. Now what is really disconcerting, send an email to a company about their product, and guess what, front and center there is an ad for that company and their products. I really do not like what I consider an invasion of privacy...but I digress, there is no privacy on the internet, or apparently ToTV.....

Yes, very intrusive! I have a pop up blocker on my iPhone and it works on everything except TOTV. That is what I find so irritating.

I have no problem with Firefox on my Mac. It is just the iPhone.

I guess I will be downloading more pop up blockers and see if they work.

Suggestions??

The ads that displayed and your privacy on your web search are settings you control on your browser and not TOTV.

The Google ads support the site. When someone clicks on one of the Google ads then TOTV may qualify for earning revenue. TOTV always has been and will be a free site for users, but the maintenance, development, and growth are supported by local advertisers and the ads Google delivers.

The mobile version is for a convenience for the TOTV users on their mobil phones but at this time the software that runs that is not a license we can own and as a result we can't control the ads.

Maybe at some point in the future there will be a mobile option that will allow us more control over how many ads appear on the mobile version.

Best Regards,

TOTV Team

Try using Tapatalk as your forum reader. I do and have no pop-ups at all on my iPhone.

tap a talk sounds good!

the ads are just becoming more frequent and inappropriate IMHO, dating services and such.

We have put filters in place to block inappropriate ads. If you take a screen shot of anything you see and send it to us we can further block. Also you may want to clear your cookies and cache.

Try adblockerplus.com. I just installed it on my laptop and TOTV is fast again.

I recommend that TOTV start charging for forum access to those that use AdBlock apps. I am sure there is a way to detect the app and block access to users that want a free ride. I am sure this won't make me popular, but I am trying to make a point. THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH!

There is no free lunch for TOTV either! You must be the one who ripped me a new one three years ago when I mentioned adblock for Firefox.

My recommendation is that TOTV put this issue on the backs of the advertisers. TOTV should require the ads of its advertisers display in a specified amount of time - and I mean something like less than 2 seconds - maybe even less than that. If users are complaining about a "slow site" and the slowness is because ads are bogging the site down, then the advertisers should fix the delivery of their ads.
