Question Outside Wall Stain

Need some advice!

Noticed an area on one side of home that looks like a wet stain (like water but not wet) (about 3-4' wide) starting in middle of wall going down to to the grass. House is block and plaster. (Home is just 3 yrs. old)

Before I call anyone I wonder if anyone has encountered this and how it was resolved.

Checked my neighbors sprinklers and mine....Water spray NOT creating the mark on house..... NEXT! ????? Like I said ..looks wet but is not.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Will call the gentleman who offered to look at it No Charge.

You have an irrigation sprinkler head spraying on your house. Adjust the head away from the house.

If you are not comfortable adjusting your sprinklers, call Jim Baumgartner, he is excellent. Took care of several problems at our house.

Once you adjust the sprinkler, spot cleaning or spot painting it may not be enough. Due to sun discoloration the whole wall may need to be repainted since the original paint will not match up with the faded wall color.

Default Outside Wall Stain

When I took possession of my new house there wasn't one sprinkler head adjusted correctly. I myself went through all of them, took about an hour or so. One of my front ones sprayed the entire front bedroom wall and window. Two on the sides sprayed my walls and one rear one sprayed into the lanai. Luckily my grass was ok and suffered no permanent damage. The wall sprayers didn't cause any discoloration because it was just a couple of months. All new home buyers need to be aware of this, it wasn't an aberration. My soon to be neighbors houses had severe grass damage as a result of this "slight oversight".

If there are irrigation water stains on a block house, SnoCap works great. Can be purchased at Ace. My hubby uses it after I read about it on TOTV's. It's a powder you mix with water.

Most of the time the stain is the result of your lawn care person being careless. A reddish brown stain will confirm what I said. Anyway, there is an excellent solution. Go to Ace hardware and get a product called Snow Cap, spray it on the stain and it will likely disappear. The product is mainly used to remove well water stains.
