I've noticed an increase in unlicensed golf carts zooming across CR 466 and CR 101 without using the tunnels.
Drivers who don't know any better, or golf carts in a hurry?

Don't be confused it is really fairly easy. Thery are part of that small percentage of residents who know full well what the rules and laws are, but behave in a manner that suggests they are above all that. There are no amount of rules, laws or registrations that will ever affect these knowingly inconsiderate residents!

You may be right that it's residents, although we all claim to drive sanely and safely.
But surely some of the dangerous drivers are misguided renters.
Does anyone know if the rental company gives renters a "tutorial" before they turn them loose.
Are renters told they must take tunnels under County roads?

They are probably trying to dupe someone into believing they lost a World Series bet when when they clearly won!

I second that on the license plates; it's time that some of these numnuts start obeying rules meant for the safety of everyone. Bring it on.

Hi villageswimmer: Agree but then the owner has the ID its no different than renting a car or borrower a car the ID identifies the cart and its owner and not the driver. the driver has his/her own identification a village ID card driver's license

golfing eagles: worse yet once a golf ball taste water it becomes addictive and it won't rest til its back in a pond

Would eliminate the need for the gate card. Could tell who runs into the gates. If you really want to get big brother, could be used to track speeders on the MMPs.
Bingo! That's what I told the big guys at the district

Just to add another "not so bright" golf cart incident.

Our son is visiting for the holiday and was getting ready to go to bed around midnight last night, in the front bedroom, when he heard a crash outside. He looked out the window and saw a golf cart on its side in the street. He was going to go out and make sure the driver was ok, but as he started to get dressed again he watched the driver right the cart and head off, trailing smoke behind. We live on a cul-de-sac and I'm guessing the driver tried to go around the circle much too fast. He wasn't able to determine if the driver was an adult or a kid, but obviously it was someone who either had too many adult beverages, or someone who doesn't know how to handle a cart - or both!
