Because I'm actively working on my cars and hope to soon start using the garage for other hobbies, we put a split unit A/C in the garage, insulated the doors and over the attic and added solar powered roof ventilators. I still wouldn't store most things in the attic due to the heat, but the A/C is so efficient pulling moisture out of the air the garage feels like the coolest room in the house even when set to higher temps.

Yes!! Another vote for summer (and the other 3 seasons as well)! It's as hot and as humid or even more humid up North and you don't have the glorious lifestyle up there as we do here.

I am not really a fan of summer, the rain in the afternoon and the heat make it difficult to golf after work. I really like the fall when the temps drop a bit and a lot less rain. Also, yes in the fall it is still less congestion.

I have to say that summer has become my favorite season here in The Villages. Thoroughly enjoying the lack of crowds and the ease of getting in restaurants with no reservations, plenty of seating at the town squares, light traffic, easy-to-get tee times, empty pickleball courts, uncrowded pools, rentals in my neighborhood remaining empty for most of the season, etc, etc.

I, too live here year-round. Each "season" seems to have its own personality, and I like the changes.

Regarding the weather and temps, I enjoy getting up early in the morning for a golf cart ride and already in shorts and flip flops. The afternoons are very tolerable. If I’m in my golf cart there’s a good breeze, and other wise I have found plenty of indoor activities to keep busy in the nice AC. Evenings are great after 630 or so to get out for dinner, music at the squares, walks, boozey bingo at Sawgrass, etc.

I sorta now wish summer would never end. Anyone else enjoying summer in The Villages?

July and August in the Villages is like January and February in Chicago. It’s the price you pay for the good months.

I think it is mostly an age thing. The old we get, the colder we feel in temp we used to say we're too hot.

I honestly am looking forward to that starting to happen to me.

Kind of sad wishing your life away for poor circulation so you can tolerate the heat. I know my mother loved the heat when she hit her nineties, before that not so much.

Of course, that is why folks left TV for a break from the heat and humidity. It was so several restaurants would close for lack of customers.
