Just do everything in reverse. Go spend a month or two up north in the summer instead of spending a month or to in Florida in the winter ! Problem solved.

Our friends up north are always asking how do we stand the summers. Our standard reply is: when we go outside in the summer, we don't have to put on coats, goulashes and gloves. We don't have to shovel the heat or clean the heat off of the car.

I'll take heat any day over cold. Pretty much a no brainer.

It seems to be personal preference, and only you know your tolerance for heat and humidity.
Very wise advice.

Wrong - when the weather turns , we head for The Villages.
We stop in the roundabouts to read maps and then we back up.
We dominate the tee time system with multiple requests.
Oh, and we ensure Frogs have difficulty getting space at 6 PM in any good restaurant.

I'm kidding - we know the "rules", and are very respectful of full-time residents.

The Villages offers a Lifestyle Visit 1-800-346-4556 give them a call first before you do the hotel thing. From what I've heard from those before me it is an incredible bargain and it is structured if you want it to be. Golf Cart included. During the summer months it is a super deal. Good Luck to you! We check in June 12th or 13th.

Summer here is like Groundhog Day. Lows are low-mid 70s and highs are low-mid 90s day after day. The weathermen should go on vacation because we don't really need them to make predictions. I find indoor activities during the day but we still go to Happy Hour in the evening. I loved the cold up north, but I can still tolerate summer pretty well down here.

It rains hard every day too. With dark clouds and lightning. Every day. Almost. I love it. It takes all kinds to make a world.

Instead of staying at a hotel, I would suggest you rent a home in The Villages through a rental company or thevillages4rent (I think that is what it is called). I've stayed in hotels in TV but I think renting a home (some come with golf carts) gives you a better feel of The Villages. I've used JD&V Property Management to rent out my home. Give Lois Johnson a call and she will be glad to help you out. If you do rent a home, there will be a cleaning fee on top of the rental price.

I am considering buying very soon and the stock answer seems to be 'air conditioning'. However I would not like to confine myself to indoor activities in the summer. Especially when I have to walk my dog in the afternoon hours.
So please tell if the heat and humidity can be tolerated during the summer months.
Thank you! Marvin Horlick
I have a gorgeous patio villa for rent from Aug 9 through Sept 9 and includes a golf cart. I do weekly rentals (or ten days).
Contact me if you want additional details... No matter what you decide, best of luck! Rae

Frozen daiquiris will help you get through this, and your neighbors will love you.

My grandson in Pa observed that in PA summer runs from maybe June to mid Sept at best. Much longer here. In addition, we only have 3 seasons....winter does not exist.

Please take notice of the folks walking their dogs in the cooler parts of the day(early morning & evening hours). It will be beneficial to both you and the animal.
