Not only do I also not remember those details, I cannot find any articles with details that match the description above.

in any case, it sounds more like the woman attacked the alligator and not the other way around and it is no surprise that the alligator reacted to being attacked.

Alligator attacked the dogs, woman then attacked the alligator. Defending her dogs, sure, but taking on alligator like that has consequences.

As I wrote, it sounds similar to the attack that was reported but not exactly the same. I would have thought that injuries to the owner would have been reported. Similarly, I also would have thought an attack like this would have made the paper - there aren't that many and it makes good news.

Woman said she was walking her two dogs on leash. She was on a paved walking path near a pond. Exactly what many people do every day.
Alligator came rushing towards her and her dogs from pond. She was not sure if was in the water or hiding in the grass brush at the edge. She said she never saw that alligator before it began charging towards her and attacked the dogs. She attempted to save her dogs from the attack, but did not succeed.

I had heard of that attack a while before talking with her. Wasn't sure it was real or just a rumor. Her scars were real. Never did see anything in the Sun about it. That's not surprising. I was very sad to hear her describe what happened. Her emotion certainly appeared real and genuine.
What is the name of the street between BV and Morse that runs south from LSL to 466A?

If my memory is correct, think it's Canal Street.

Long before TV, they were mining for phosphates in Sumter County. There was a railroad that came down to Cherry Lake (i.e. Lake Sumter) and they may have had a canal going from Lake Miona to Cherry Lake.

The phosphates mined west of Lake Miona may have been put on a boat and transported thru the canal to the railroad on Cherry Lake.

Maybe that is where the 'canal' name came from.

Or someone threw a dart to the wall listing street names.

Maybe the small body of water behind The Chop House is a remnant of the old canal from Lake Miona to Cherry Lake.

Maybe there was a water mill there and that gave rise to the street name Old Mill Run.

It was originally called Carnal Street, but PC protesters objected.

Back to the topic...

It's my understanding that at the Lake Okahumpka Rec Center you have to pay to take their kayak out for a guided tour. There is no provision for using the facility to take out your own kayak. If this is true that's probably how things are going to work at LSL.

If you go to beautiful Okahumpka Park on Route 44, there is a place to launch your own kayak.

Was actually agreeing with you that there has not been a death of a person.

Just relayed 2 accounts of gator attacks in TV, injuries and death of a dog. Human was unharmed.
Will definitely add to the ignored list.
