Default Superbowl Viewing

I have been in my Covid bubble trying to stay healthy, but I would like to be amongst a socially distanced crowd to watch the Superbowl. Does anyone know of an outdoor big screen situation accessible by golf cart where that will happen? No bars, no restaurants. And no need to respond if you're not into football anymore. Drama free thread please!

I did a search, I had heard of a viewing party outside Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. I couldn't find anything as far as the public, they are allowing 7,500 health care workers to attend a pregame party outside in the parking and then go inside. I did see something on a viewing party in Lutz, Florida that appears to have been cancelled.

The only outside viewing party I could come find was the Chiefs South Fan Club has rented Al Lang Field in downtown St. Petersburg, that's an old baseball stadium. When I was a teenager in the 60s I use to go to spring training games and minor league baseball games there. Since the Rays came to St. Pete in 1998 they now use the stadium for their minor league soccer team.

They are limiting the crowd to 2,500, I'm guessing the viewing area with be more than the stands which normally hold about 6,000, probably the playing field will be included would be my guess. Masks will be required and it's $150 admission. There will be KC BBQ and drinks and other things included.

Al Lang will probably look like this, since it has been reconfigured for soccer

IMO the best seat in the house is home.

Thanks for those suggestions John, but I can only go where my golf cart will go within TV. And yes at home is a good option Topspinmo, but I found it so sad to celebrate alone when Tampa won the Conference game. But if no other options come up I'll probably have to do that again.

Not only do I bet multiple games during regular season ( NFLticket helps, I also make some gimmick bets during games , I watch all games alone and like it that way . Im a genus during this playoff season only losing one game so far, I’m betting $5,000 on Tampa plus I’ll do some gimmick bets happy and alone knowing at the end of night win or lose I’ll still be comfortably ahead for season

Your picture on your post looks like you are VERY young so I won't worry about you. I think that it is still very dangerous to be indoors in groups, no matter how distanced they are. One of our neighbors died two weeks ago from Covid. He was a healthy guy. 69 years old. The new changes to the virus is making it very, very contagious. I hope this isn't too much drama. I just like the facts.

I am planning to make some major snacks for the three of us. Guacamole and Frito's. Skyline Chili dip. Rumaki. Meatballs. Fruit tray. Yum. And I will be rooting for the other "Buc's" this time.

Thanks for the "young" comment, I guess at 56 I am considered that around here. And I do take Covid and its variants very seriously. Thanks Gracie.

For the last I can’t remember how many years, hubby and I have been in different countries during Super Bowl. We synchronize the game on our separate TVs and speak on the iPhone or iPad for hours. We can comment on each play etc - it feels just like we are beside each other, even though we are thousands of miles away. He still works and can’t come with me.

I got kids that are 56 so yeah, you are young...... Do you have any friends that you totally trust? We are joining another couple for the super bowl because we know they are as conservative as we are....even so, when we are in any house with them we observe the distance rule and hand washing.

I'm in the same situation. I'll most likely do that. Thanks!

I'm just staying out of being indoors with others. Even if I want to 'trust' friends, I know so many that have infected their whole family and friend circles while thinking they were safe. Can't afford it. But I wish you well with those that are near and dear to you.

This year we have a wager; my team is TB, if they win, hubby learns to make crème brûlée for me for Valentine Day. If he wins, his team is KC, then I make paprikás chicken with dumplings on VDay.
