Default Surging sprinkler heads possible solution

When I first moved in a new patio villa, I had a problem with surging sprinkler heads in a station. Probably station 3 in my case. Over 2 years of occasionally hearing the sprinkler heads pumping over and over and having a sprinkler guy charging me $180 and then saying in order to fix it I would need to have him redo the whole master sprinkler pipes at a cost of $1000.

I didn't believe him just by the tone of his voice (a former employee of the Villages or Villages contractor) so I did research and tried my own fix. I went to the sprinkler box and closed the water valve slightly so that not as much water pressure was going through the pipes. After cleaning all the heads out, the surging of the sprinklers stopped completely. It's been almost a year and none of that popping of the sprinkler heads is going on. If you have a new house and have the popping/surging going on, try turning the garden water valve in your box - so not as much pressure goes through the pipes. I had searched for a year to find this solution.

Very smart idea, thanks for the tip!

I have a filter, algae seems the predominant contaminate here (south of 44).
