Default Sure wish we were ready to buy.

Even though we are about four years away from retirement & moving to TV, I can't help but check out the pre-owned homes on TV's website, usually on a daily basis. I normally see a lot of nice ones that I think we could be happy in, and once in a while I see a real WOWZER that almost makes me drool.

Not sure if I'll ever convince the wife to go with a CYV, but if I do this one would sure fit the bill. Someone did a magnificent landscape design! Just plant me anywhere out in the lanai or under the pergola & I'd be a happy campin frog.

check it out: Properties of The Villages

I feel you. Same here. Couple that with watching the SS webcam and somedays I drive myself crazy.

A CYV is great for many reasons, with privacy being a big one. We love our wall. Going out to have breakfast and coffee in your robe with nobody able to look in is great. And for the dog having its own free-roaming space....and affordability......and the tax bill.....and on and on.

Prices are only going to go up in the next many years and you may want to look into, if you can afford it, to buy now and rent it out until you retire. Just a thought.

I so agree.... We sit here and see the prices going through the roof.

Don't get me wrong, it is not the right time for us yet....but am afraid that by the time we can go that the prices will be so that we won't be able to go....Oh well, I am not in control!!!

Believe me, if we were financially able to go ahead & buy now & rent it out we would absolutely do that. Unfortunately, that's not the case. Please don't tell anyone but when we first visited TV last December on a LSV we brazenly disobeyed direct orders from many here on TOTV and left our checkbook at home. The nerve!!

if you need the rent to make the mortgage you might want to rethink.. if rent is just a bonus than its a good move

I feel your pain. I reluctantly opened this thread because I knew it would only depress me. That said I'm not really a Villa guy but that was awesome. And reading some of the comments here makes them sound really appealing. Might have to broaden my daily search
