Default Survey: anybody bought an item for sale without a picture?

Is it just me? When I see a post in Items for Sale without a picture, I never open it.
Curious what if anything someone would buy without a picture these days?

I agree. Might as well just put a classified ad in the paper, although that's not free.

I have purchased something on here without a picture by calling the advertiser and than they have e mailed me a picture right away. However, certainly my preference would be a picture and measurements if applicable.

I'm even more perplexed why people advertise items, even houses, without an asking price!

I won't bother on Craig's list or Ebay without a picture. I might on TOTV if it is close enough to go see

I've sold items on here w/o a photo...since I don't know how to post them!! I'm generally "cryptic" re: personal information being posted publically too...folks can PM on here by clicking the OP's name where a tab comes down. I also have purchased an item or 2 w/o the photo as well....depends on the item first of all......

I think a picture is a necessity. If the seller can't be bothered to attach a picture and mention a price, why should I be bothered to look at the free ad?

Default No picture

I agree with the majority, include a picture and price! There's detailed instructions on posting a picture. In fact they should stop even taking ads without a picture.

Sometimes a picture will not do justice to the item you want to sell. Word your ad properly, get interest going, perk up their curiosity, and of course, the item you want to sell is what the individual is looking for. Next comes the email, phone call, home visit, make your deal!
The seller has a better chance in dealing with someone who is standing in front of you and can see and touch the item, or "want to have that" look in the buyers actions. Also, the inference of receiving other calls from interested parties helps. Ask the ones who have bought homes here in TV and never came down to buy, just to look!

Do they charge for having something for sale, and how much? I guess my biggest problem is bringing up a picture too!! hehe (in fact, sometimes I have problem getting picture from camera to computer) Sometimes my patience sort of runs out. In fact we are both not too computer savvy. Oh well, will learn

Depends on the item. Some electronics, yes. I really don't need a picture of a router or even a laptop -- give me me the model and I'm going to look up the price and reviews anyway. Furniture or decor items definitely need pictures.

I think it would be a big help if the sellers who do post pictures would post the pictures in an up right position.

That seems to be more seller-oriented than buyer-oriented. To make a potential buyer go through all that... I just don't want to spend the time. If I can't see a picture or a price, I move on. Usually, I'm just browsing on TOTV for-sale threads. If I see something I like, I pursue it. But I have to see it. Just my opinion.

I bought a pickleball paddle here without a picture. I offered to buy an LCD TV without a picture, but was too late.
