And, although I am relatively tall, I can't reach the roof of this SUV to towel it off and husband has been indisposed, so I am considering resorting to going to a car wash.

I guess it is a family policy to not spend money on car washes, since his car is 13 and hasn't been to a car wash either.
. Last time I WASHED my own car (~2 yrs ago) I fell off a stepladder while drying the roof and literary broke my arse (tailbone) and had to sit on a donut for 6 months. My driveway is on a pretty large hill and dumb me put the stepladder on the soap coated painted driveway and smash!. Even have it on video from my security cam. I watch it once a month as a reminder how I almost killed myself. LOL. Now I get it detailed once a year and that's it other than when I bring it in for an oil change.

After returning the cloths, we could have our license back.
Go there every few weeks and this is apparently their new policy.
I am not giving some kid i do not know my drivers license. They said it is due to the cloths being stolen. Needs to be a better way. Will not go back there
Not the best business policy. You can buy boxes (100) of those cloths. Increase the cost of the carwash by .25 and that should cover the replacement of those that go missing. This way you are ticking off your clients.

That's terrible! They say the worst accidents often happen close to home.

It is becoming the trend. The carwash I go to provides free vacuum, towels, and three air guns on the right side (one for window cleaner, one for air to blow dust out of crevices, and one sanitize fluid). On the left where the towels are There is a mister where you choose your desired car scent (if any) and car mat cleaners. You slide the mats into this machine (as you would a fax) and it washes and vacuums them. then they come out the other end. Kind of like you are making pasta. $24.00 a month for unlimited washes (Usual price 32/mo)

Ask the restaurants in The Villages, how many salt and pepper shakers, mustard, and ketchup containers and jellies go missing every day.
Yes the car wash is probably losing many towels a day. Can’t blame them for this policy

Totally agree. When Fenney Grill opened they had very nice S&P shakers and they did have them for sale. Every pair were stolen from the tables. Just ridiculous.

Don’t see a problem, I keep a micro fiber in the car all the time. Went there yesterday.
