I am sure that most of us love the seasonal flowers that are planted at least 4 times a year in the public areas of TV, especiallyl in the roundabouts. What I am concerned about is that perhaps the flowers are changed too often. Today many of them were removed and replaced. The plants that were taken out were just coming into their prime. The Foxgloves were not even at their peak, and had just been coming into bloom in the last 5 weeks. The purple Kale were not past their period, and the Marigolds were looking so fine. I do not know how expensive it is to replace them, but a lot of money could be saved if one planting were eliminated. Afterall, you and I are paying for this service, so I think that we should have a say in how our fees are spent.

I like things just the way they are. I say the LAST thing we need is to have everybody saying how things should be run. They change the flowers to fit the season, the temperatures etc. I think they do a wonderful job. My middle name is thrifty. Some call me tight. I am the poster old girl for fiscal conservation. BUT...
The flowers are one of my very favorite things.

I was just remarking today that I love the fact that they change the flowers when they do,,, they are so beautiful. Whoever decides all this is brilliant, look at the beautiful azalea bushes on Buena Vista between Old Camp Road and Stillwater,, you can't get better than that.
After living in warm climate for years and having beautiful flowers around me 12 months a year, I really appreciate seeing the beauty that TV is offering. I respectfully disagree also, I love the way things are!!

I would like the opportunity to take some of the plants home when they are changed. What happens to the ones being dig up?

If you see the contractor digging up the old plants, if you asked they might give you a few.
VCDD Our Place Archives Entry Gate Landscaping The entry gate to each Village is designed to be different and have their own personality. The flowers at each entry gate are changed four times per year. The actual maintenance is managed by a contracted service with each individual district.

Thank you for naming the flower I have been racking my brain about for weeks, Foxglove! Everyone I have asked were sure they were Snap Dragons and even though there were many of those also I knew the Foxglove was different. I'd even gone to Lowes and Home Depot in hopes of finding the answer to no avail!
I think it's a waste of beautiful plants but I, for one, would not brave the roundabouts to claim the old ones! |

TV does a great job in maintaining the landscapes. One reason we loved this area. I try to save anywhere I can, but I must confess, I like changing my flowers like TV

As a gardener, I fully agree that it is awful to see them pulling up beautifully mature plants. While I wouldn't brave the roundabouts, I wish there was a way to leave them in the ground a little longer. I think you can all hear the collective sad sigh from those of us with green thumbs....

I also think that the flowers placed at the various spots here in TV are beautiful. I like driving around just to see what they have planted. However, I do agree that they could get more time out of the ones that are planted. They seem to thriving at the time of replacement. Maybe a few weeks or even another month would be appropriate to let them stay on the ground a bit longer.

I heard a rumor that the flower beds will be paved over or the flowers will be replaced by plastic flowers saving on replacement, watering etc.
It's up to the residents to vote on the surveys they were given so vote often. |

Several companies have contracts to change the flowers 4 times a year.
