Default Buyers of Aspen model

For anyone that has purchased an Aspen - what type of upgrades have you done? Our meeting with the design team is still several months away. We are getting our thoughts together. We have been told that we can not go with wall mounted ovens. Apparently it is not on option for this model.

We added a golf cart garage, stretched the front (bedroom and garages), stretched the lanai, we upgraded our cabinets, appliances (ss), we made the second bath into a stand-up shower stall (about $1,300), did tile on a diagonal on all rooms but the bedrooms (approx $7,000), had them add an acrylic coating to the lanai floor - same color as the house paint, added an 8x8 cement pad right by the lanai screen door -- for the grill, we got a standard front door with half-lite and will have Perry's install the glass. We did not do granite, but will add that when we are down there full time in a couple years. the formica-looking granite is very nice. I think those were the highest cost items.

We added a foot to the top of the kitchen cabinets (you can always use more kitchen storage), made the pad outside the lanai 8' x 28' and love it. It was so cheap. We did the granite, 18" tile on diagonal, 2' bump to the back, stainless appliances, changed the banding in the tile in the master bath shower. We considered going with a shower in the guest bath but thought we might like a tube. Good thing, the grand-babies came the second week we were here and we were really glad to have the tub. We have carpeted bedrooms. Golf cart garage, acrylic paint in garage, lanai and pad. We did shutters in all but the sliding doors. One thing we just did as aftermarket was to have Pikes Electric put a four light fixture on the bedroom fans. It really make a big difference. We also have remote for the master bedroom fan and a rheostat for the light in the master. We upgraded the faucets in the kitchen and bath, too. I'm sure there were others but can't think of them right now. We love the floor-plan. Hope you will too.
