Default Swimming Pools

For you folks that maintain your pools how often do you shock them?I have a salt water pool and I’m trying to get a handle on the proper care and maintenance.
Thanks Bob

Although I am certainly no expert (but I've done the monthly maintenance on my salt water pool for years), the one and only time I've had to Shock the pool is when I was remiss on the chlorine level. I vowed after that incident, to never NOT check the chemicals, religiously

If you have a digital control box like T&D provides, go to Super Chlorinate setting.

The other question is why do you think you need a Shock? If you're having your pool water tested weekly (this time of year Stabilizer is needed), and things are normal, you won't need a Shock.

The pools are shocked whenever I show up in my Speedo...

And rightly so!

I never shock our pool. With a proper CYA(stabilizer) FC (free chlorine)ratio, our water stays xtal clear. The best pool and related site is TFP/trouble free pool. Start off reading ABC's of water chemistry.
