T-mobile cell service plan for 55+: any experience?
There is a senior (over 55) plan now available with T-mobile that I've read about. We use Verizon now and it seems like it would be about a $40. per month savings for us. Netflix is included. I was wondering if any of you have made the switch and what you think about the service? We are about to become snowbirds.
thanks to all, |

Prior to covid we traveled a lot (and hope to again soon!) and T-mobile is great if you go overseas. You get cheap calls in most countries (10c per minute, I think), free texting, and free (slow) internet which is good enough to check email and such. You can also upgrade during your trip to get faster service if you like. kathy |

Aren’t you on Verizon’s 55+ plan? $40 per line. Unlimited everything including Canada and Mexico.

If you are interested in the T-Mobile network, an alternative option is Mint Mobile, a prepay MVNO that uses the T-Mobile network. It is available for $15 per month for unlimited voice and text and 4 gigabytes of data. I have not had any issues in the 2 years I have had them.

If you have Xfinity internet, one of the best cell phone deals is Xfinity Mobile. You get the Verizon network and unlimited talk and text and 1gb of data or $13.77 per month. Verizon is almost always rated as the best cell network.

I have had T mobile south of 44 for over 2 years and no issues. We saved about $60 per month over what Verizon was charging us.

not sure about the villages, but t-mobile has always had spotty coverage around the country. Verizon is the deluxe standard for signal strength throughout the country. Signal strength/coverage is mandatory when traveling if you are using your phone for GPS. I used ATT before Verizon and just going 20 miles outside of Atlanta or other decent size towns, you would get no coverage. I have been on Verizon's 55+ plan for many years and pay $40 a month per line plus taxes for unlimited everything.

mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) is a wireless communications services provider that does not own the wireless network infrastructure over which it provides services to its customers. |

Xfinity Cell service you should be paying only about $15.50 with all taxes per month for 2 lines sharing 1G. The best deal in the industry by a landslide.
