Angry Taking Dog Along on Golf Course

Looks like it is now allowed to take your dog with you when you go golfing!
We were signing in to golf this afternoon on Churchill when we saw a white
Par Car with an Australian Shepard dog in the cart. I mentioned it to the
starter and he responded the guy didn't mention the dog but he also saw it
when they pulled up to the first hole. Didn't stop the guy! We were behind
the group with the dog and could see the dog on the greens! When the
Ambassador came along all he said was they aren't "supposed" to have dogs
with them but it looks like a really nice dog and it is in the cart. NO I told him
it hasn't been staying in the cart. It did not have on any service dog type vest
and the Ambassador and the Starter when I asked didn't know either. Also
the guy with the dog was golfing in his bare feet...no shoes or socks!
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it but I sure don't like it!

Boy Howdy!

You should have taken pictures with your phone and forwarded them to the director of golf. Told him what course and the time. I think the starter and the ambassadors have NO power to eject anyone, but they can call for back up.

I love furries but there is a time and a place for them. The bare feet are so not what golf is about.

My cat Mikey just read this and he is GLARING AT ME. You don't want HIM on a golf course. He isn't always a gentleman.

They should have charged the dog the Visitors rate for being on the course! I bet the puppy did not have a Villages ID..

Greg the Villages has 99% great people but the other 1% leave a lot to be desired!
Gracie I can't believe the Starter and Ambassador's don't have some kind of authority.
When my daughter-in-law was visiting the Starter wouldn't let her on the course to
golf because the straps on her top weren't wide enough. My husband had a jacket
in the cart that she had to wear and it was a hot day!

Doesn't sound like you're a happy villager tonight. I wonder now since this has been posted and dog owners realize that nothing was done about it, how many pets will be out there?

Dogs I could put up with, if their well behaved. No shoes? What's next, "wife beater" tee shirts and shorts/pants with holes?

We were golfing at Redfish at 645pm and a lady was walking 2 large dogs through the golf course. Not on the cart paths, just walking on the fairways. Today on Southern Star, we got out of the golf cart and found a pile of poop as we were walking to the green.
Why would you want your dog walking on the golf course with all the chemicals?
What happen to the responsible dog owner?

Even though pets should absolutely NOT be on a golf course, you may have still been fortunate. None other than the great "Jimmie Mac" golfs bare-foot now, just as he always did back in the mid-80's with the Chicago Bears. That's been awhile, so maybe you didn't recognize him? Jim took a lot of hits to the head, and he shows some of the effects of that now, but he can't be goofy enough to take a dog golfing. Sad to think he may have gotten so pitiful that he'd need a doggie to snuggle with in his golf cart.
