I can't remember what the typical "time par" is for the executive courses. I'm sure they vary, but probably not by a lot.

My recollection is that they are around 90 minutes for 9 holes, maybe 1:40 minutes.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I know they are on the scorecards. I almost never pick up a scorecard when on the executives.

Say it's 1:40 minutes, that averages to about 11 minutes per hole. It really shouldn't take more than that per hole for a foursome on a par 3.
But, there are two sides to this issue. I've been in groups of 4, walking, with a 3-some in two carts behind and in front, and had the experience of the people behind getting impatient. We were not only on the "time par", we were ahead of it by a few minutes.

The ambassador came up and admonished us for not being "caught up" with the group in front, and he was reacting to complaints from the 3-some behind. I advised him that we were ahead of schedule, we are 4 people walking, and the groups in front and behind are 3-somes in carts.
I politely suggested what he really needed to do was to advise the group behind us of that, and tell them to relax and stop pushing us.

So before you get really impatient with the group in front, take a look at the clock and the card and evaluate how far behind the time par they really are. It may not be them who is too slow, but you who are in too much of a hurry.

I'm not saying that's always the case, but it often is.

I'm a huge advocate of "fast play" on the golf course and with an empty golf course, my friends and I can normally do 18 holes on a Championship Course in 3.5 hours, with a walking foursome. That said, you're 100% correct and an Ambassador should never speak to you about "pace of play", if you're maintaining the recommended/required time for the particular course you're on.

Just because someone behind you is waiting to make their shots, doesn't necessarily mean you're behind on the clock.

I appreciate your post. Unfortunately, many of the responders are on my ignore list, but that’s okay because they belong there. I would add “repair divots (yours and a few others)” to your list, since from my personal observations many golfers around here don’t bother.
