Default HUGE Thank You to Villagetinker!!!

I want to let everyone know how lucky we are to have access to the amazingly talented Villagertinker! I contacted him after reading a post in this group after he recovered a lost wedding ring from inside a recliner.
Did someone say Recliner!? My husband broke the leg extender on his electric recliner last week. It has all the bells and whistles and was only 3 years old but we figured it wasn’t repairable, so we checked out 3 furniture stores for a new one and none of them would take the broken one when they delivered the new one. Thrift shops, same answer.
Enter Dan, the Villagetinker. He responded immediately and came over, diagnosed the problem, a broken plastic mechanism, that couldn’t be repaired…..but wait! He made a new part from metal, made several trips to fit it perfectly and it works now, better than before because it’s a custom made replacement metal part.
We are amazed at his talent, his kindness, his availability and ingenuity. What a great resource for those of us who aren’t mechanical and can barely screw in a lightbulb. Becky and Sam say Thanks Dave! You saved the day.

Not officially a handyman, I try to help the people that have tried other options and were not able to get help. For example the recliner I repaired, the owners had already tried a few resources, with all of them saying 'not repairable'. I was able to hand make a metal piece to replace the plastic piece that broke.
I do not like the current "throw it away and replace" mentality so I do all I can to REPAIR items, sometimes I am successful, some I am not, but I like the challenges. Keep me young.....

Absolutely believe you. I have no questions about the abilities of Villagetinker - we are all so lucky to have him in TV and at this forum.
