Yamaha Gas Drive 2, Blinking LED headlights when starting moving forward
SHaring this fix I made today... My LED Yamaha headlights since day 1 have always blinked on and off when starting to move the cart forward. And sometimes even at higher speeds lately. Changed all the normal things regulator battery and on and checked wiring best I could with a meter. Sooooo I bought from amazon - Lemotech 8-40 VDC input to 12 vdc output Step down regulator--- $22 bucks or so. So here is the deal if your cart is set up the same as mine.. I have a CURT (trailer wiring module - S0604-U-R1 (3-2 harness) under the cup holders... FInd the wiring coming from the steering wheel column headllight switch going to the CURT module - labeled TAILLIGHT- Vehicle side (Not trailer side) It is a Brown / grey wire. Cut it in half. Take the steering column side wire and connect to the Red (IN) wire of the new regulator).. Connect the Yellow (Out wire ) to the other half of the wire you cut -- the Taillight wire on the CURT module).... Connect the 2 ground wires on the new regulator to Ground.. You need to find your ground to connect them to.... That's it... No more Blinking.. Have run it for 1 day and no issues... Maybe finally this headache is gone.... Not all carts are maybe set up the same as mine.. so be careful... There must be enough capcitance inside this new regulator to keep the voltage from dropping down to like 8,9,10 volts when you hit the gas from a stop.. This keeps it closer to 12 VDC and no more blinking... Woohoooo |
