14 years is a state law.

So you'e saying the 55's + that are already here or move here can only operate their golf carts 10 +/- years to age 65? This is a retirement community built on golf cart access. Sixty-five + may be old to you, but if you're lucky, you'll be there someday. What about the over 65's who still play golf, softball, etc.? Sixty-five does not mean that you sit home and wait to die. With only 20% of the homeowners allowed to be under 55, what happens with the other 80%?

As Bogie says, 14 is the state law.

And please put a little wink or something if you are tryin' to be funny. Jokes about older people are allowed.

If you were tryin' to be mean, remember I am 70 and I can summon the posse!

Lightbulb Respect

I respect a person's right to sit at a bar, listen to loud music and lose some
basic social behavior controls. I only ask they also respect my right to a
sober, quiet enjoyment of life and the music at the squares. I don't think
that is too much to ask.

Let me think back a few weeks........
still thinking,, hold on here it comes to me now,,,,,,,,

Last 2 cart accidents that were major issues involved much older people driving the cars. One even backed over a gent on bicycle. The other on the trial along 466 ran over 2 cyclist trying to pass in a place you can not pass. His comment to SCSO was I just wanted to get by them. So he runs them over.

Do not remember any teens there, Oh wait, one of the cyclist on 466 was a 17 year old that had to go to the hospital via ambulance. And people complain about the younger drivers......

besides depending where you are at on the cart paths or Multi Modal Paths, it is Private Property, the SCSO can not ticket it.. That is straight from a SCSO Deputy.
