Thumbs down Sinkhole Coverage

Hello All,

I will be purchasing a 1 yr old home in Jan of 2013. So far, all the insurance companies that quoted me, do not offer sinkhole coverage. Does anybody know what agencies cover sinkholes? Thanks in advance

not many do anymore. And even those that do are getting out. I just got a notice from my carrier that my new policy coming up for renewal will no longer include sink hole coverage.

If you're having trouble getting sinkhole coverage, contact Rita Canty with Brightway Insurance out of Jacksonville - (904) 646-1850

They represent a vast majority of the insurance companies that write HO insurance in FL. I'm sure they'll be able to help you.

We got our insurance - with sinkhole coverage - through them. I know of at least 2 other members here on TOTV who were successful in getting their coverage though them as well.

According to our rep at Villages Insurance, sinkhole coverage will soon be as scarce as hen's teeth. What will be available will come with very large deductibles. Citizens..the state run insurance pool will cover, but the price for it is like trying to buy auto insurance after having a DWI. Our rep also tells us that if you buy a brandy-new home in TV SOUTH of 466 it can be had without an inspection, but will come with a deductible. If your house isn't right off the assembly line, then things get hard. If you've got it try to hang onto it, if you don't..good luck in your search.
