Default Thanks to Valentine Gentleman

A friend of mine in Bonita who is 89 years old on Wednesday evening tried to find a parking space at Public's in Colony Plaza to get some groceries. After several trips around in the various lane she finally found one.

She noticed that the men were buying lots of flowers at the flower shop area. She told one gentleman that the flowers he had picked out here really beautiful.

The gentleman asked if she was going to be receiving flowers for Valentine's Day to which she replied, "No, I have been widowed for several years." He told her to follow him to the cash register. The man paid for the flowers and then handed them to her.

My friend was expecting a camera crew to leap out and tell her it was a Valentine's prank. She even asked a Public employee if it was something going on.

It was just a man who was very nice to a elderly woman. Bless you for making her day....or perhaps her month!

Thank you for a lovely post. It always amazes me the goodness that some people have in their hearts.

I remember a friend of mine telling me that I surprised him, for what I would do for him, as he was struggling with the effects of cancer. Many people have helped me through life stuggles and there are many more to meet.

Very nice story. I have found the Publix people here in the Villages extremely friendly and helpful. I have often wondered too if something were going on too at least at one of these Publixes.

Last night We three and Swimdawg went to Cane Garden for dinner.

The wait was not nearly as long as we expected for Valentines day and after dinner they gave each of us girls a fresh flower mini bouquet.

We were so touched.
