Thank you for all that important and wonderful information but I just can’t seem to figure out what I am supposed to do with it.

:faint: Didn't I see yesterday that PETA(People Eating Tasty Animals) wants us to stop using the phrase "Beating a dead horse"? :0000000000luvmyhors They actually want it changed to "Feeding a fed horse".

It has become a meeting place destination. Not just golfers. The outside patio is the draw.

Facts vs Complaints

Merely making an observation of more people present is hardly a complaint. It is a FACT that there are more people here during the winter months, wait times are longer, parking spots are harder to come by, etc. Has that not always been true of Florida? Texas is the same. We had friends there in the Panhandle who were retired and headed to South Texas every winter. Hey, there's plenty of everything for everyone, although patience seems to get to be in short supply occasionally. As for more crime: Don't think so, unless you factor in the fact that the criminal element already here just considers added population added resources for them. Welcome back!

The parking lot for Publix on 466 was almost full on a WEDNESDAY. Inside Publix, the bags of lettuce were gone and there were a lot of really non tan shoppers and ladies wearing dressy hats and longer black dresses and a lot of make up. It was crowded in there and as I waited for Henry to check out, an older man setting next to me, (he wasn't any older than me to be fair) said that the lines for restaurants were long last night.

Anyone else see any signs that the birds are back?

What's the point? Snowbirds are bad? You built in a bad location? Snowbirds shouldn't eat lettuce? Snowbirds should eat their meals at home?

I hear a lot of sirens. More in the winter months. Drive carefully, the roads and streets are more crowded now for the next few months.

None of the above. All it means is that a lot of delightful people have joined us and that we can feel the swelling of the population. The high season in all of Florida has begun and there is an enhanced sense of fun and more people. MANY, many more people.

Quite a difference in these two posts...…………………...

It means the same thing. Just as this poem I posted in 2013; 2014, 2015, 2016,

Welcome Home Snowbirds.

The traffic is denser
The long lines are tenser
The northern birdies are back

The wait is much longer
The accents are stronger
The northern birdies are back

The squares are more dancey
Tee times are more chancey
The northern birdies are back.

Old friends are returning
The night oil is burning
The northern birdies are back.

There's more entertaining
And much more complaining
The northern birdies are back.

Not much room at the market
And no where to park it
The northern birdies are back

Rookies on the roadways
Folks driving in strange ways
The northern birdies are back.

New ones and old ones
younger ones and older ones
The northern birdies are back.

Welcome HOME! We missed you.

Oh, sorry. Sounded like your original post was complaining. Didn't realize the dude who took the last head of lettuce was delightful. Sounded like a complaint that you couldn't get your lettuce.

It was. But it could have been a frog.

My only issue is that S. Morse Blvd ( heading towards Rohan Rec) has become a race track

I confess to having been among the blue sky- sunshine-seeking snowbirds for many years.

I confess to growing weary of the wielding of the wide brush that paints us as The Abominable Snowbirds.

But, at least, now, I am terrified of lettuce.

You are NOTHING but a funny lady. The message seems to be lettuce alone. :1rotfl:
