Default Moving companies all $$$ and booked...

Wife and I are closing on 7-31-12. Large moving companies are very expensive right now due to demand in the summer. Anyone have any recommendations for a mover from the Atlanta area and your experiences.

Only thing I know for sure is to stay away from Superior Moving.

Default moving

We ran in to the same problem. Finally used North American Vanlines. We close in IN on July 20th, but the furniture will not be delivered to the Villages until August 7th - 10th. Price was good though.

Sorry you are having a problem scheduling your move. Have you tried Two Men and a Truck in Atlanta? We moved from Woodstock in March. Welcome to the Villages

North American tried to "force" us into a guaranteed price. I don't trust the folks that say "if you contract now"! Not to say all of the NA locals are the same, but our estimate was a " NO THANK YOU"! After the other estimates, they were WAAAAAY high.

Why not give the TV relocation service a call. We used one of their recommended movers and couldn't have had a better experience.

Smile Don't use internet moving companies

We booked with an internet moving company. Their website was so lovely and the rep was like my bff. Luckily before they came, we were alerted to the horror stories. They hold your stuff hostage, they jack up the price, your things are tossed into crowded storage. We convinced them to return our deposit and went with Mayflower. Even with them, we had some issues but not as bad as it could have been.

Good luck. Moving like this is somewhat like pregnancy and childbirth. It is so exciting in the beginning, then you just want it over with. Yup, there will be a bit of pain and tears. But oh, it is SO worth it.

We used Suddeth of the villages. After getting six quotes in Atlanta, Suddeth met the best price and stored locally here at the villages. We were able to get delivery on the day we requested and they did a great job overall.
