Default Natural Golf Instruction

I would like to know if The Natural Golf swing is being taught anywhere in or near The Villages. This swing, for those that don't know, was developed by Canadian golfer, Moe Norman. I know the basics, but need guidance to go any further with it. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dale

Hi Dale, I studied the NG method for years, bought ALL the training videos, the clubs and read the book about Moe (a likely person with Asperger's syndrome and a gift like a savant). As you know there are also a LOT of other single-axis methods out there. I went back to a traditional 2 plane swing over a year ago (for many reasons). I have not seen any NG instruction in TV and have not heard of any nearby.

I think NG is going the way of the dinosaur. As RSH mentioned there are other one-plane methods that are more in vogue. I switched to a modified Stack and Tilt this year with very good success. Easier on the back and much more consistant results. I'm flirting with single digit handicap (currently 10.4) for the first time in my life. Do a search on Stack and Tilt in Google for videos on the subject.

S&T isn't strictly a one-plane swing but it has many of the elements of NG without the straight arm axis. Most golfers I play with would benefit by it since it eliminates most of the timing associated with a traditional weight to the right swing (for a right hander). I use a modified S&T by keeping my weight centered on the back swing and keeping my left arm very close to my chest. I'm averaging about 275 off the tee and my irons are crisp (145 9 iron for example). Now if I could just avoid those nasty triples when I pull it left -I'd get under a 10!

Can you tell that I like to talk about GOLF?

Hey Dale. Check out the Graves Golf Academy at Eagle Creek golf course in Orlando. It is run by Todd Graves ,also known as little Moe, he was one of the original golf instructors for natural golf. I.ve attended their golf schools and find that there is less stress on my bad back [ bulging disc ] and i am much straighter. Can't wait to be in TV full time by sept 15 and start really working on my game. Maybe i can get down to a 10 handicap like Russ
See you on the links--Steve

Hello to you all and thanks for all the replies. I've been strugling with my golf game since my flexability went away (getting old, don't tell anyone) I played traditional golf for years and had a respectable game and as the flexability went, my ability to turn thru the swing and finish has deminished. The one plane swing seems well suited for me, but I'm not having satisfactory results trying to learn on my own. I know there is some little thing I'm not doing, but can't quite figure it out. I love to play golf and would like to get my game back. Thanks again, Dale

Steve, be sure to give me a heads up when you are down, I would like to meet and talk, maybe play a round, Dale (e-mail duffer4384@yahoo.com)

There is a very good book about 1 plane and 2 plane swings called "The plane truth for golfers" by Jim Hardy with Peter Jacobsen.
