Default Time to build our home - only 6 weeks

We were told our Gardenia would take 87 days to complete. We found out is done! My neighbor said the clean up crew is inside this very moment. It only took 6 weeks. That seems very fast but it looks great. We are scheduled to close oct 7 th. how long did it take for your home to be built, if it wasn't a spec home?

Are they pushing up your closing?? If they said it would close on Oct. 7, do you still have until Oct 7 to close?
My hubby worked for US HOME back in the day, and he was the Super on a crew that built a home in 30 days for a publicity campaign. But they had crews working over night with flood lights etc.
Still, the speed in which the finish these homes in TV is amazing. These builders have it down to a fine art, they do it over and over again. It is amazing to simply watch them stack the block. Bare dirt in the morning and ready for joists the next day! Amazing!

These builders are amazing, the speed in which the finish these homes in TV is hard to believe if you haven't seen it yourself.. They have it down to a fine art, and they do it over and over again.

It is incredible to simply watch them stack the block. Bare dirt in the morning and ready for joists the next day! Amazing!

We can't get there faster. We based our airline tickets and a rental based on oct 7th closing. We are coming to close, receive delivery of our appliances, have shutters installed, and crown molding put up. We have renters moving in two days after that. We are not moving to TV until 2015.

Our footers were inspected and approved on July 19. Our house was completed yesterday the 12 th, except for the window and door bonds. It's a Begonia with virtually all the stretch tins. So, that's about 7 weeks. We were told Thayer aim for less than 80 days. At first we thought that was fast, but they are phenomenally organized. The real question should be is why do other builders take so long. What village are you in. We are in Collier.

If you "right click" on the photo, and choose "open link in new window" the photo shows right side up (at least it did on my computer).

Congratulations on your new home! Even though you won't be living in it until 2015, you have lots to look forward to. Lucky tenants to be getting a brand new, never lived in home!

Yes, the picture is fine if you click on it, and it is right in my album. I don't know why it posted that way. And yes, the renters are lucky. I am sad to not be the first to live in our home.

We built a Gardenia in 2010 and it was done in 57 days.
They would not move the closing date up as all appointments were booked.
