So right. It is funny how people complain about snowbirds after being here for only a few years. I'm lucky to have my home here or there.

So true. People complain when they were that same snowbird at one point. If you’re looking for the same neighbors without interruption...and solitude, try the pan handle!

Thank goodness that changes like this are not subject to individual preferences.

just put the world on one clock, everyone has the same time, no changes, no times zones,
when you say i will call you at 5PM, its 5 PM everywhere so no having to add or subtract zones.

it just takes awhile to reprogram the grey manner, and then all good!

Why hasn't this solution been looked into? Seems like a very logical solution to this conundrum. I've always been an advocate to just "pick one" and go with it. This half hour deal appeases both trains of thought. I LIKE it.

It has. It’s been kicked around Congress for decades. They used to argue on behalf of farmers for not changing it. But I believe (and stand to be corrected) that even with an act of Congress, the States have the right to opt in/out

Obvious they do as I am in Arizona where we don’t have DST. I’m going to write letters to my representatives as soon as I get there.

It just seems like common sense. We are lost if expect our leaders to agree on something as simple as this.

At least most of my clocks will be right again come Sunday.

total waste of time

Used to be good to set your clocks once a year. Now most clocks are automatic.

Old indian say: 'Take a foot off top of blanket and add it to bottom; blanket still same length.'

When told the reason for Daylight Savings time, the old Native American said "Only a white man would believe you could cut a foot off the top of the blanket, sew it onto the bottom of the blanket, and you'd be left with a longer blanket."

States have the right to opt out of DST but they cannot impose DST year round without a congressional act to permanently implement DST.
