What are you going to fight inflation with no end in sight?

Gas prices @ $3.50 a gallon with news of it going higher.

Selves' half empty at most stores, and prices higher if you can find anything.

How has your life changed?

That’s a tough call, it used to be that a real asset like gold performed very well during times of high inflation. But with all the idiots buying make believe stuff like crypto, with nothing backing it, the demand for real assets appears to be waning.

Yes, it is the worst inflation in 40 years and likely will get worse.

Maybe I can learn to panhandle effectively and bring down $200K/yr tax free!

My life has not changed. I was just at Publix and the shelves are not empty. I purchased everything on my list.

Publix does not have the best prices compared to Aldi's, or Walmart.

How horrible. How can we survive gasoline at 3.50/gal, the same price it sold for in April 2008. And yes it will go higher if Russia invades or we impose sanctions for their aggression, then they cut off oil/gas to Europe and the market for our and OPEC's oil jumps. World markets are set by world events, not those in the good old USA.

I haven't noticed any store with 1/2 empty shelves, but you may wish to spread the economic gloom and doom fantasy for your own reasons. The port backup is slowly clearing, Covid may be finally coming down, again, we are at near full employment, workers are in some areas getting paid better.

One thing the Pandemic taught us. The dining out was great and overpriced. Cooking at home not only saved on our budget but an easy estimate saved $200 weekly. Fuel is not an issue, buying a used car is not an issue or buying a new home. Have not seen empty store shelves. Travel is reasonable along with cruising.
Much of the inflationary issues are showing up as greed explaining why corporate profits are so high some profits are okay but what is being reported through filings is excessive. We are being fooled!

Most of us living in TV can survive higher gas prices but the person working for $10 - $15 an hour is hit pretty hard. Higher gas prices drive up costs for everything else hitting those low wage earners even more. It's real easy for well off people to tell poor people to just suck it up and quit spending frivolously on things like life essentials.

It could not be more clear that this is a phishing expedition. The REALITY, is that things are not that bad. We do have choices. Eating out for example costs roughly five times what the same meal costs at home. Gasoline-combine trips. I've heard people admit that they deliberately forget things to have an excuse to go back.

We have no choice but to live with it. What to do about it? Read the posts, once again we see neighbors turning on each other and it is not as bad as it can get. The end to inflation, historically is bleak. It never has stopped without a lot of pain. History-recession, depression, war, currency collapse. So far it has NOT gotten nearly as bad as it can.

This thought. "A person working for $10-$15 an hour." Truth is the numbers mean nothing. What matters is what an hour's work buys. The CPI consumer price index has hit 7.5%. Thus you need to find not 7.5% more to buy the same goods but your top tax bracket added to that 7.5% as we spend money after tax. Fuzzy math but I need to make roughly 9-10% to net 7.5%.

Perhaps, fortunately. My dad was a wounded WWII combat veteran. I know what it is to be poor. Turn up the violin music. Gasoline? We did not have a car until I was 10 or 11. I am comfortable today. I NEVER ASKED FOR OR RECEIVED ANYTHING.
I am comfortable because as a friend says I was an overnight success it only took me
45 years of hard work and saving (investing). Most of us spend more time complaining than looking for opportunities.

In your first two sentences you say it is not that bad, and then you finish up with a message of foreboding in your last two sentences!
