My wife and I are seriously considering moving to TV. I would like to sell our house and rent for a time before buying, and as we are in agreement, sort of, is it possible to secure a six (6) month rental? Has anyone heard of an arrangement like this? The thought of paying rent for a year just does not sit well with me, and, we think 6 months would be enought to decide if the Villages is right for us. Or better still, where in the Villages we would be most happy. Thanks in advance, cycler.

Probaby 50% of those who move to TV will rent first. Six months is fairly normal length, you can do 3 months or even one month. Here's 1600 rentals on one site with rates, lengths and even photos.

There are quite a few homes for rent all year long, people just own homes to rent. They would love a 6 month rental as then they don't have to worry about the income. With the pandemic I think there are fewer people renting so more stock for you to choose from. Also, Canadian and British friends we have do own homes here and they are not coming back for quite some time.

I live up north and love it, so Chatham, Woodbury, Piedmont, Glenview... But new renters probably would prefere being closer to a square. So between 466 and 466A to be near Lake Sumter Landing. Or around Spanish Springs (where we rented initially). Be sure to get a golf cart, preferably a gas one (rent or get a house with one included).
