Default Eye glasses on line

Heard that people buy prescription eye glasses on line for a fraction of what I pay elsewhere. I did check some out but measuring was pretty difficult for me. Has anyone ordered eye glasses on line and is there is a web site that you recommend and any tips on how to get it right...thanks

My wife ordered from Warby Parker. If you have the prescription just pick frames and submit. They have a virtual try on feature if you have a smart phone. You pick the frames and the app shows you what you look like with them on in a live stream so you can turn your head. It is best if your prescription has an inter pupil distance on it. But if not there is a feature that you select and the app figures out this number.

I've been wearing glasses for a long time and every pair I've had required adjustment, so they fit properly and comfortable, by the optical shop techs. I won't be ordering any glasses on line just for this reason.

My wife has purchased thru zinnie a few years ago and worked well and saved a lot of money.

This time we had a problem with measuring and gave up and purchased thru Sams.

I ordered a pair of prescription glasses from Zenni.com and they are great. The prices start at about 7 dollars for a complete pair of lenses, including the frame. You just copy the information from your prescription onto their online form. You may need to provide the "pupil distance" measurement, which may not be on your prescription. You can do this measurement yourself or just go to any optical store and they will do it for free with a hand held machine. I like the Zenni glasses better than the more expensive ones I bought from Sam's Club. And, much less expensive than the independent opticians.

Once the lenses are ground and set into the frame, what other adjustment can be made except bending the earpieces?

I use glassesusa. Have ordered many pairs. I just order wide for me and don’t worry about any adjustments. They have been great.

I second Zenni. Very good service, pricing, and options. I wear no line bifocals and got my recent pair for more than $200 less than discount optical stores.

I have ordered many from EYEBUYDIRECT. For any reason if they don’t fit they are returnable. You can upload a photo and do a virtual try on.

Yes, if you know you’re measurements of frames in mm’s. Which you probably not going to find on you’re eye prescription. They like hidden it or leaving if off so you can’t order on line and cut them out.

I don't buy online but go to Optical Outlets over Rolling Acres Plaza , Lady Lake. Go to their website and click on specials.

I ordered all my glasses online until Walmart started carrying brand name frames and lenses with competitive prices.

Yep ... been buying from Eyebuydirect for many years even before they had their excellent return policy and have yet to have a problem. Prices easily 1/2 what you pay in a local store. I have progressives with an astigmatism so they are over $600 locally. Only problem to consider is if you get a bad prescription from your local doctor they start to blame each other. Doc says RX is OK and glasses made wrong and online companies say you got what you ordered. Then you have to go back to DOC for another Rx whether it was right or wrong.

As for PD (pupil distance measurement) I have found local docs aren't so quick to do it for you unless you get an exam from them however the iPhone (not sure of other brands) has an APP that measures very accurately (confirmed) using it's camera.

I had my pupil distance measured at Sam's Club. The woman who sells the glasses had a hand held machine that you look into. It took about 10 seconds. I didn't know there was an app.
