Driving thru the Moultrie Creek and other new neighborhoods yesterday and I noticed that the house numbers are the "stick on" style attached to a front window pane. Is this a requirement by Sumter County or is the developer doing this on their own accord. I personally don't like the look and would prefer the numbers over the garage.

Thanks for the link. I read the entire thread, but failed to locate a definitive answer as to why these current "stick on" numbers are being used vs. the other style which were placed above the garage doors.
I won't spend sleepless nights over this, but was just curious.

They've done it both ways in other areas for at least the past 5 years.

You can add numbers over the garage and remove the window sticker as preferred.

When looking at the new homes on the website, some homes in Moultrie Creek have the numbers over the garage and others have the stickers and some are in the bedroom windows. I would guess that’s temporary as obviously you won’t keep address numbers in the bedroom window. I agree it’s odd.

We removed the stickers and bought black aluminum numbers @ ACE. I then monted them vertically on one of the entry posts. Easily visible from the street...

The stick on numbers are cheap for the builder, with and easy to read font and size, reflective for best viewing at night, and clearly identify the address.
Not a requirement that those are there, but were placed there because they are effective.
First responders will look for those numbers first, since most houses have them. If they do not see them, consider the added time wasted to look around to try to find your numbers placed in a alternate location.

My brand new home 3 years ago didn’t have any stick on numbers… not to mention even in Moultrie Creek right now, some have stickers in windows and some have the numbers over the garage door.

Occasionally, but not often. How would those people know to do that? Especially at night. If it's a heart attack call, then the AED team would. But there are a lot of other EMS call types.
Also, perhaps they are looking for 2080 and your house is 2076. Gives them a big clue how much further.
