Default Big Cypress Set To Open

I heard that Big Cypress Village Recreation Center (on Hendry Drive, south of Pinellas Place) is scheduled to open Sept. 6.

I learned this from a new rec center employee who will work there. He was "in training" this morning at Sterling Heights.

I'm not sure if this will be a grand opening or a soft opening. I remember that Bradenton Rec Center had a soft opening - the pool and billiards room were opened, but the multipurpose room and card room could not be reserved until a fee weeks has passed.

Does anyone know what ammenities are at each?

I want to pass the info along to our renters for November and December

Big Cypress is open but doesn't have a schedule of activities yet. You can use the family pool, play the outside sports, etc. They are having a meeting on Sept. 26 for residents to come together and talk about what activities they would like.

Thanks PAt. I guess there may be something posted after the 26th then?

I believe are only a 5 minute stroll to Big Cypress, as that is how long it took us to walk to Palmetto Starters hut from our house. It will be really convenient for us.
