I personally find rooms in rec centers to be rather sterile and off putting, especially if there is a small gathering. But I don't have a dog in this fight. I regretfully can't attend a meet and greet this summer as I'm "up north". |

I said rec center because it's free. I use to be part of a neighborhood group who met at the rec center once a month. We pushed the tables together and played games and sometimes just chatted and ate what ever anyone brought. |
I would be interested. But could I order one meal there AND two to go? I would not want to disappoint my wife or girlfriend.

May come with one of my many female friends, we will see. Looks like it may be fun though this Friday. There are some posters I would not want to talk to at all and I hope that others who go understand that and fully get why and will help with keeping things civil.

ALL, first thank you for all of your thoughts and suggestions. I stopped by Eisenhower Rec center today (I also called the district gov), and this is what I was told. We can NOT get the use of a rec center on a regular basis unless we are a registered Villages club, and all people attending the meeting would need village IDs or guest passes. So based on this information the rec centers will not be a suitable location for the meetings.
As noted previously, restaurants are going to expect paying customers, so currently, I am out of ideas. If anyone else has an idea or contact with another business of facility let us know. |

Looks like the Lunch Menu there stops at 2:30 PM. |

We could invade one of the pools but that would require the people to have Villages' IDs. And maybe some planning with where and when with the Villages' permission as well.
