Got it Dad Jokes. I love to laugh. The cornier the better. You want to read some real dud try the joke forum. Maybe one good one out of every five. :a20:

You two are a hoot! I have fun with your posts. Tomwed's corny jokes and Nucky's very interesting choice of words.

The nasty/controversial/bigoted posters never came. I always wished they would so I could see if they had scales or one eye in the middle of their forehead. I remember one where everyone was asked to explain their screen name - I said mine was eweissenbach as my real name Ed Weissenbach was too long. Bill Wright laughed.

I have not been in The Villages very long. I have mostly just lurked in TOTV. I don’t know the nasty from the friendly. I would just like to attend this event to make friends and meet interesting people!

The last place had a balcony for the lurkers.

I think the meet and greet had taken a break by the time I moved here, but it sounds like a great idea. Depending on day and time, count me in. Thanks

I second that emotion Chi! I would think that a centrally located rec center location would work much better than a restaurant. Bring your own drinks and snacks and don't worry about disrupting or accomidating a business. I attended several from 2010 to 2015 and enjoyed meeting people face to face. I would attend when in TV.

I agree with Chi and eweissenbach. We had a good thing going with Crispers, but it might not be so easy to talk another restaurant into letting TOTV meet and not eat.

Everybody has an ID. Pick a rec center in the middle of the villages.

Everyone can bring their own drink, plate, fork and napkins--and for a snack everyone can bring any kind of cut up fruit to feed 4 people on a serving plate with a toothpick in each piece so there is no "double dipping." You could cut up a melon. wash some blueberries [that's a lot of toothpicks], pineapple, apples, whatever. You walk around the "Fruity Buffet Table" and make a fruit salad. The leftovers go back home.

No head count
No collecting money
No one to call if you can't make it
No decorating
No clean-up
[does anyone have a table cloth?]

He seemed agreeable to but wants at least 1 day advance notice, and is expecting food and drink orders. Here is my take, if we meet at 3 PM then I am going to order take out for 4:30 or 5 PM as both me and my wife like Mexican.

So before we go any further, who is interested in getting together again, with the understanding that there will be food/drink orders.

It has been a while, and I forgot which Sunday we normally got together, or if there is a preference to change.

You can let me know by replying here or sending a PM.

I'm sorry. I forgot where this thread started. It was thoughtless of me not to contact you first.

This was my idea for a meeting that kinda runs itself. That would not be nearly as good as an event that is planned.

So we do not flood the rec centers with requests, i will hold off until you can report back. After seeing many of the replies, and a few PMs, i agree the a rec center is probably a better solution. Thanks for the assistance. VT

Last sentence...in particular. :D
