Default Channel 9 ABC news truck at Colony

Today I saw a Channel 9 ABC news truck in the Colony Rec. center parking lot. A lady I talked to said they were doing a segment on golf cart safety. They filmed her golf cart. She said it was on the 5pm news.

I saw the segment on the news. It gave tips about golf cart safety and spoke about the number of golf cart accidents in the past12 months. It discouraged riding with small children on your lap and encouraged obeying stop signs and speed limits. It also encouraged use of seat belts.

All great ideas. I see many children riding with out seat belts. What are the parents/ grandparents thinking?

Unfortunately they are not THINKING. It is so easy for a young child to slip off the seat and off the lap of the driver .............. but, it happens all the time and every year and no matter what safety precautions are advised, many never take any notice - it's not going to happen to them!

I was coming through one of the gates this week and a golf cart shot out of the postal area into the road, it was a young boy driving the cart with an adult sitting beside him. There really is no cure for stupidity.

The high season is lowering, but spring break is breaking. Please don't let your teen grandchildren drive into us and hurt them and us too.
