.
No idea if TJ is headed our way. BUT.....

..........Trader Joe's just paid Consolidated-Tomoka Land Co.$ 7.8 Million

for a 76 acre site
just off I-95 in Daytona Beach.
Site-work for this new Distribution Center has begun.
When operational, 450 jobs will be filled at this Distribution Center.

Yes they are planning to add some stores in Florida.

Trader Joe's has opened about ten new stores in the past three years in Florida. Two more will open shortly; one in St Pete in Feb and another in Orlando in the Dr Phillips area.

There is nothing on their website about a location in Wildwood.

Did the rumor also include that the whole shopping center would be rebuilt? It appears that would be required.
Kinda out of the way as well.

What makes Trader Joe's special or unique?

I went to one in Pal Alto, while visiting my son, a couple of times because it was convenient but I don't remember it having a product line that was not included in Publix or Winn Dixie.

He doesn't have much time to shop or cook so he likes their salads and sushi.

I was talking to one of the checkers while at the TJ in Gainesville. She questioned we would get a TJ here since we had Aldi's. Since the stores are owned by brothers, she thought there was some agreement between the two that only one of the stores would be in an area. Does anyone know of an Aldi's and TJ in the same town?

Don't ya just love a rumor?? That said I'd love it "IF" Trader Joe's came near-by! Yes, they have both Aldi and Trader Joe's in the same communities as where we moved here from had them. Just not across the street from one another.

A friend told me that "out west" they utilize buildings that once housed another business, rather than building new ones so I could see them taking over the W.D. BUT would rather we knew for sure before sending info out w/out naming a source.

Warwick, RI.

On Wildwood location. That location would need to be reduced in size. Trader Joe's does not use that big of a space

I was told by an employee of Trader Joes that a huge distribution center is being built in Daytona. Once completed there will be many more stores.

There are both Aldi's and Trader Joes in Rochester, NY. I really miss my Wegmans and Trader Joes. Lucky us. They were both in the same strip mall and constantly had price wars.
