I try to eat as much organic as possible and as fresh as possible....most of the time. Having said, TJ's processed foods are fabulous for when you just don't want to cook. Their ingredient list is short and "clean" compared to other brands we are used to. They have more organic and non-GMO foods than Publix or Fresh Market, and the prices are way better!!

Last time I was at TJ's a bag of organic lemons (either 4 or 6 in the bag) was $1.69. I just paid $1.29 EACH for org. lemons at Fresh Market.

All of their products that I have tried, so far, have been very good. I love to stock up on their staples, like EVOO, vinegars, olives, etc. and the best canned sardines I've ever had. I just had their curry simmer sauce last night, and it was great!! BTW, the sardines were not TJ's brand, they were Season's, but I haven't found them anywhere else.

Planning to go on Saturday!!

As others have said, many of their frozen foods are great - "real food." They have a number of meals that are perfect for 1 or 2 people. Also love many of the appetizers. My favorite is the "Birds Nests!" Perfect to eat with afternoon libations :-)

For me, goat milk yogurt and milk.....I can buy the milk here,(super expensive), but not the yogurt. The TJ's frozen dumplings and 3 buck check wine ( is it still 3 bucks?)....haven't visited the Gainsville store YET!

I love Trader Joe's frozen pot stickers (Chinese dumplings) and their Dunkers (delicious biscotti for dunking in coffee). Their dark chocolate for baking or nibbling is fabulous, so much better than Nestle or Ghirandelli. I could go on and on, you'll have to see for yourself.

Are "birds nests" a type of cracker? Where are they shelved at Trader Joe's?

They are an appetizer in the frozen foods - require baking. They are julienned vegetables "clumped" together in a light tempura coating. They come with an asian dipping sauce. They are delicious (and not too unhealthy - 70cal/7 carbs each). I think there are 12 in a box. I bake them then cut in half to serve.

Default trader joes

FYI--many of the products at Trader Joes are made or distributed from foreign countries. We stopped shopping there due to that reason.

Insofar as non-U.S.-made food products are concerned, this is unfortunately true for all supermarket chains. Keep in mind, though, that some foreign-made products are acceptable. As with anywhere else, one must shop carefully at Trader Joe's.

If you visited one sometime, you would understand. Great prices.
