Default Looking for a prepaid cell phone company w/Data

I am looking for a good prepaid cell phone company. I currently have Consumer Cellular and I am very happy with their service. I only use it for talking on the phone. I would like to upgrade to a smart phone. There are so many prepaid cell phone companies that it is very confusing. I see that Virgin Mobile has a reasonable plan, but I don't think they have alot of coverage everywhere. I could use some advice!! Thank you.

I too have Consumer Cellular. Great service, but I want to move to an iPhone. I'm buying the phone outright and then am going with AIO. Heard of it through Consumer Reports. It is owned by AT&T and uses their towers. Will pay $55 a month for unlimited messages and texting and unlimited data first 2 GB at high speed.
$40/month plan has unlimited data and texts and 250MB. Taxes and fees included in $55 and $40.
There is someone at Paddock Mall in Ocala that explains everything.

We've been researching, and this is the best I could find.

Virgin Mobile has a $35/ month no contract plan. Only 300 voice minutes though. "Unlimited " data and texts. Uses Sprint system.

I have Consumer Cellular and just bought (within the past 6 weeks) their smart phone. Samsung, cost $150.00. I absolutely love it and recommend. Has excellent reviews and the data plan is not expensive.

.........Never mind, I found my answer regarding the plan you referenced. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks

I use Wal-Mart's SmartTalk. Bought a Samsung 3G for $150.00; pay $45/month for unlimited phone, texting and data. You have the option of getting SmartTalk using Verizon and a couple of other companies (don't ask me to explain it, I got confused and quit listening plus I knew I wanted the phone connected to Verizon). Love it so far and much cheaper than my previous 2-year plan with Verizon.

Dee, do you mean Walmart's StraightTalk? I've used that plan for years and I've lived all over the east coast. It works great. No contract $45 a month unlimited talk, text and Internet. If you prepay 6 months or a year, you get a small discount from the $45 monthly fee. I've never had any problems. There are a few places in the mountains of Pennsylvania where the service dropped, but other than that, it is a perfect fit for me.

Yeah, I do, BK, thanks -- StraightTalk, not SmartTalk. Right now, my only problem is a defective phone and they're going to replace it. (At least I got Wally World right.)

Good to hear you are getting good service. Will head to the AIO people in Ocala to set up my phone-once it arrives from Apple. Which plan do you have? I thought I wanted the $55 / month plan, but maybe the $40 would be enough. I have 250 data on my iPad and it is fine unless traveling. How much data do you usually use per month?
