I am planning a trip to The Villages and was wondering if there is any type of shuttle that runs from the Orlando airport to The Villages?

TheVillagesTransportation.net They pick up just about every hour at the airport. Really like them.

Villages Transporation is great......they run almost very hour and its only $30.....love it!

The Village Airport Van is not the best idea. You can easily be on the van an extra hour than if you took The Villages Shuttle from Villages Transportation. For an extra $5 over the $30, you can get the taxicab service right to your door.

The Villages Shuttle runs on a SET SCHEDULE, and transports passengers from Orlando to a Shuttle Station in the Villages. You can easily spend an hour or two at the airport waiting for the Village Shuttle to depart. The Villages Shuttle doesn't run after midnight. And you also have to find a way to get home from the Shuttle Station!

The Villages Airport Van is more flexible. It runs 24/7. It will deliver you right to your door. Also, if your flight is delayed for any reason, the Van will usually wait for you to arrive. It is more like a taxi service, however, the down side is that the Van may be delivering passengers to neighboring communities on the way Home to The Villages.

We have been happy with the Villages Airport Van. We like the convenience of door to door service and they are extremely reliable. Just once did we have to get a whole tour of The Villages before being dropped off. It usually is not that bad, but it is a chance you have to take.

There are also several private car services that work well for only slightly more if there are two of you. The van rates are per person so $30 for two is $60. For $70 to $80 you can hire a private car service door to door. Also they will do Tampa or Sanford. Go to VIRGINIA TRACE, THE VILLAGES, FLORIDA, good services list, and scroll down to transportation. There are several listed. If that doesn't help, PM me and I have a name I use occasionally I will send you.

If you are traveling alone then the Villages van service works best.
