Default Multi Car Accident on 441/27 near Main St

I drove by there today around 5:00 and there must have been 7 or 8 cars involved on the southbound side just south of the golf car bridge.

Does anyone know what happened?

I don't know what happened, but we saw the accident after-the-fact. We drove our golf cart over to the grassy area near the fence on the northbound lane of 441 just under the golf cart bridge. There must have been about 12 other golf cart gawkers with us.

It looked like it may have been a chain reaction type accident. We counted six vehicles involved. There were two rescue squads transport vehicles and one paramedic truck on site. They blocked off the southbound lane of 441 and directed traffic around the square to avoid the accident. Lady Lake Police Department was directing traffic and assisting with the accident scene.

I agree. Somebody must have been going pretty fast. Some of those cars looked pretty bad.

If 441/27 was jammed with snowbirds this wouldn't have happened.

It was pictured on the front page of The Sun this morning. Bad damage to cars pictured. Article said seven people were injured and four had to be transported to area hospitals, one to Orlando Trauma Center, one had to be extricated from the car. It said no further details as to cause were available at press time.
