Default Truck spraying in Duval

Wednesday night about 8:15 a truck came driving in our villa neighborhood in Duval spaying a substance from a hose in the back. It made several passes down the street. Does anyone know
what was being sprayed? Was any notice given? Could not read the name on the truck.

Probably the county's or city's mosquito control. There's a reason not too many of the little pests are found in The Villages

Default Spraying

About two weeks ago a truck with a crew was spraying a light coat of oil on the golf cart asphalt trails. It was late in the evening maybe the same thing happening?

In the old days before the p.c. Movement kicked into high gear malathion was sprayed on a hot exhaust to spew a cloud out for skeeter control.

And as kids we would run behind the truck.

It's the mosquito fogging truck. Came through our St. James neighborhood one night last week.

I grew up in south Texas in the 40s and 50s when DDT was still being used to "fog" neighborhoods to kill mosquitos. My brother and I, and other neighbor kids, used to run behind the truck. I could taste it. It's a wonder that we don't have third eyes! Our mother was more worried about us running into the back of the truck when it stopped.
