Default Trucks that block golf cart lanes.

It's all to common to see lawn companies or construction contractors park their truck in the golf cart lane to service the home there. This is actually the rear of these homes and they should park on the street in front of the home where they won't be blocking travel lanes and possibly causing dangerous situations of carts, bicycles, etc. of having to go into the car lanes to get around.
It seems just lazy on their part. I'd like to see the police enforce this if these people are breaking the law.

Good point. Parking in a travel lane of a through street should be illegal. The question is................... is it?

However, there are some through streets with golf cart lanes where the street is in front of the house. They are relatively rare, but they do exist. Now what?

I agree that it is a hazard. For example they park on Pinellas and cause the golf carts to have to enter the "car" lane, it isn't the safest. I wonder if you called home watch if they would stop by and talk to the contractor/landscaper.

I've seen them occasionally parking like that and more amazingly how many cart drivers just zip around without looking ahead or slowing down and a few do go around safely

In a perfect world, they would be considerate and park where they are not impeding traffic. I think some contractors are thinking, I just want to get done ASAP, and really don't care because it's human nature to some people.

This is one more thing to add to the list of, "we have to be careful always, when driving about in TV. IMHO

Maybe contractors should follow the laws.

If the contractors/crews really need to park there in order to load or unload supplies and equipment, you would at least think that common sense would dictate that they park there only as long as it takes to get'er done! Did I say "common sense?"

I'm going to pile onto this thread and say not only that they block street traffic too! I'm in a construction zone and the &*_+@ who are NOT doing construction park exactly at houses they are doing work at on the other side of the street, all but blocking traffic. Brains, gang, come on, man.
I do have a suggestion. Bother to call community watch at 753-0550 and report the company. If it happens to the same company a brazillion times, maybe we can make a difference.

Default Golf Carts Have To Enter Car Lane Anyway.

Golf carts are required to enter the car lanes anyway to make a left turn so just do the same thing when you encounter an obstruction and exercise the same caution that you would at an intersection. The situation described by the OP is not really any different than at the front of the homes within the individual villages because no one seems to obey the slower 20mph speed limit anyway. It is dangerous all around.
