Blow pollen onto the lanai table, but not off of it?
Does pollen have tentacles?

LOL! I'm on Evans Prairie, and the lanai is covered with pollen. Wiped it all down two days ago, and it is covered again.

Exclamation Evil

POLLEN IS EVIL. THAT'S WHY IT WON'T BLOW AWAY.

Actually, as you surmise, some pollen is "sticky" and once it lands on a surface it tends to remain.

In our area one of the really troublesome pollens, from an allergy standpoint, is oak pollen. As you will see from the microscopic photo below, oak pollen has "stickers" which make it stick where it lands. One of the really troublesome effects of this is that it sticks in the sinuses of allergic people. That is why it can be very helpful for people who have this allergy to rinse out their sinuses with a Neti Pot, available in local drug stores.

I use to love my former students reaction when they learned they were breathing in the male reproductive cells of plants.

Think of the horror they would experience if they knew that they were routinely inhaling dead dust mites from their bed pillows.

Good idea. And be sure to advertise those pillows as Artisan Crafted. (That ubiquitous description always sounds like a redundancy to me.)

Would have been a good subject for Emily Litella a fictional character played by the late comedian Gilda Radner. "NEVER MIND"

Yes, pollen does have little tentacles. I know because I once got some in my eye and had to. See my eye doctor. He showed it to me under a microscope. Wicked stuff!

Whew, that lets me off the hook, I can now say with certainty that I am not, I repeat, NOT a male pollen.
