It is not only noise pollution you need to think about. The Health Effects Institute published a major review of the evidence examining the health effects of traffic pollution. They concluded that traffic pollution causes asthma attacks and impaired lung function, premature death and death from cardiovascular diseases and cardiovascular morbidity. The area most affected, they concluded, was roughly the band within 0.2 to 0.3 miles (300 to 500 meters) from the expressway.

There is an old saying in the auto industry.....there is an a** for every seat. Seems the same applies to the houses in The Villages.....don't see them empty for too long.

Default Noise is a matter of opinion

I perhaps because as a kid we had an elevated train go right past our apartment at the same height can sleep through anything. Wife wakes at the slightest noise.

You need to decide for yourself. We have a block home. I expect it is quieter than a sided home. We don't have them but I would expect hurricane resistant windows would also quiet a home. Plants too can help.

This is my first time posting also. I live in the Brownwood area which is north of 44. I am thinking of moving and have a home on a cul-de-sac overlooking a pond and preserve. There are homes on both sides but visually there is total privacy. Noise is definitely not an issue and the location is great. The house is a 4 bedroom Ivy and has a beautiful view.

Hi, just wanted to say that my husband and I decided to buy another home here and sell the one we are in now. We have not listed it yet, so we could ask for a lower selling price. We live in an adorable 2/2/1 but I have neuropathy in my feet and am unable to walk on the concrete slabbed floor. We bought a manufactured home today and need to sell this home. The style is Colony. 211 Estrada Place, Rio Ponderosa Village. It is move in ready, completely furnished, turn key. Very, very nice home. We hated to have to sell it but love living in The Villages, so we did what we had to do. Call me if interested. (765) 637-5553. Kathleen & Mike Hudson. Thanks and good luck to you. Our home is right in the middle of Spanish Springs and Sumter Landing Market Square. Lovely area, very quiet with wonderful neighbors.

Of equal consideration with noise concerns should be the air quality along major highways. There are more airborne pollutants
which can affect those with already compromised breathing issues and/or lead to future problems.
