Back on topic,,, this was expected. They are buying up areas probably around Powell Road that currently have some cattle and horse farms and private dwellings. It would make sense to expand the Villages through this area to make it a cohesive Village community and not have private homes and farm dotted through the area down to Brownwood. I've been assuming this was going to happen for awhile.

Since moving here 4 years ago, I noticed a lot of "For Sale" signs in surrounding areas in Fruitland Park and Wildwood and thought these folks are hoping for a buyout, smart cookies.

It's pretty much the whole ball of wax . . . . . I too, found it very informative. Glad I found it.

Seems like this came up in another thread a couple of weeks back but I don't
recall exactly. Maybe a search will turn it up. Maybe they allow plastic pink flamingos!

Mixed-use!! That could mean stores folks! Restaurants and more! Not necessarily homes....
According to project plans, 225 acres would be used for residential and mixed use development. The remaining 98 acres is wetlands and 30 acres would be used for stormwater management.

I agree with you, but the "plan" says residential and mixed use. Sure sounds like a few more homes to be built. Another square?

I can see why they would buy this land to not only add more homes but protect their investment in BROWNWOOD. Can you imagine how much money they are investing in this new square? Cost of Brownwood----100 million? 500 million? By the way, electric cart that can go 60 miles or more will get you anywhere you want to go in TV. Better take your car if you need to go further----I like my cart but don't want to ride that much in it!

Bogie - I'm fairly sure that figure was tossed in as a "what if" kinda thing. I suppose someone has a good idea, but for most of us ... how could we even begin to guess the investment? It is a lot, of that I am sure.

Back to my origional post from Delaware! We were down in July and told by a Villages Realtor that the new section was the last section and that after they were all sold the only way to get into the Villages was to buy used and the prices would only go up from there. I quess we were mislead or they didnt know about the new expansion. I wonder if they told other couples the same story? Was everyone in the Villages under the same impression?

I was at an HOV or POV, I foget, meeting about 2 years ago when Mark Morse said (quite emphatically) that TV would not buy any more land. Of course they may have already owned this piece.
