Was hoping the new versions of the map will include magnifying glasses...but if bed sheets, that will be good for those who get lost at night and can use it for a lean-to shelter or just to cover up with if it is chilly!

I heard they are going to be on electronic paper that can be updated nightly, until we get to 'build out'.....

Do the ones at AAA focus on TV and show the locations of each individual village, rec center etc? If it does, I will go there

A. I love maps.

B. I love the maps of the Villages.

C. I love y'alls sarcastic humor, Champion et al.

D. Don't criticize folks who sell maps for five dollars. Retail trade is not illegal, immoral or fattening. THEY built a better mousetrap. Their maps sell well for a very good reason.

E. I love this place and the Morse family. Yes I do.

Blindly...deeply.

Default TV $5 Map

If you have a smartphone, (ok, I know this is TV and we are still experimenting with the Internet), there is an app called The Villages GPS. pay for it, download it, open it and try it out. It can tell you how to get anywhere in TV with a car, bike, or golf cart.

Gracie -- I think the maps of TV are great and very well done.
The AAA maps are not done as well but you aren't comparing oranges to oranges; AAA maps encompass more and their purpose is just different.

Yes, I can use my GPS or my Android phone for directions, but that isn't like looking at a map.

However, this is one of the cases where I think the developers can throw the dog a bone.
With proof (our Villages I. D.) of being a resident, I think they could easily discount the $5.00 fee to $2.50 -- half the fee -- and they still won't go broke.

And people would still complain that there is a $2.50 fee.

Not greed, just that the map has to be twice as large.
